Edge hasn’t been seen since WrestleMania, but he is coming back. The Rated R Superstar only signed a limited schedule for his return, but that comeback has been mostly in front of zero live fans. That will likely change very soon.

When Edge first signed his new WWE contract, it was reported that he would make $3 million a year and he will be paid in full as long as he wrestles at least three times per year. He’s also scheduled to make 25 more appearances on WWE television.

The belief is that Edge might have signed on for a heavier deal, because he has made a lot of television episodes, even showing up in NXT. We’ll have to see what’s next for Edge, but he will be back.

The company announced that Edge will be at the Houston SmackDown when they go live. That could mean he will be inserted into a new storyline. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Edge’s return to the blue brand seems to line up with a SummerSlam match as well.

Since Edge is billed to return on the Houston Smackdown, and there is talk about bringing back big names, his wrestling at SummerSlam seems to add up.

The company wants as many big names as they can get at SummerSlam. Brock Lesnar’s name isn’t being discussed right now even though he did reappear on the company’s website. A match for Edge might make ton of sense, and it would also check off another obligated appearance on Edge’s limited contract.

What’s your take on Edge’s second run in WWE? Should the company make him champion? Sound off in the comments!
