WWE will often switch up someone’s name before they debut on television. This is usually done so the company can make sure they have ownership over that name. This happened again for a debuting Australian Superstar.

The company announced that Grayson Waller will make his 205 Live debut against  Sunil Singh this week. Waller, real name Matt Farelly, was previously known as Matty Wahlberg before signing with WWE.

Grayson Waller used to be known as “The 21st Century Success Story.” We will have to see if he keeps that same great moniker. It seems that a name change isn’t going to affect what he’s bringing to the table.

New name, but the attitude is the same. @WWE205Live this Friday (Saturday in Aus)

Waller was signed to WWE in April 2021 and they obviously didn’t waste any time getting him on television. It also appears that he might have skipped over NXT. He could always show up in the black and gold brand eventually.

We’ll have to see what Grayson Waller is able to do in WWE with his new name. He also made it clear that his Australian fans will have to watch his debut on Saturday.
