AEW made big deal about bringing Riho back to the United States so she could continue her path in the company. Their women’s division could also really use someone with her veteran ability. She appeared a few times, but hasn’t been seen in a while.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Riho went back to Japan. He did not say when she will come back, but AEW obviously wants her to return.

Riho was the first-ever AEW Women’s World Champion. She was a strong champion until Nyla Rose defeated her. Rose has since lost that belt to Hikaru Shida. Now Britt Baker is on Shida’s heels as the two have a match at Double Or Nothing on May 30th.

AEW had to stop bringing a lot of people in from outside the United States when the pandemic hit last year. The borders were closed and wrestlers like Bea Priestley and Sadie Gibbs were released because of that. Hopefully, we will see Riho again soon.
