BIG NXT Call-Up To WWE Main Roster Likely Coming Soon

WWE just called up Rhea Ripley during the Royal Rumble and it took them a few months to figure out what to do with her. Now The Nightmare is ready to take on Asuka at WrestleMania. Ripley could see an old foe join her soon enough.

Io Shirai lost the NXT Women’s Title to Raquel Gonzalez during the first night of NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver. This was big match, but they also had time cut from them.

Bryan Alvarez made mention of this match during Wrestling Observer Live where he said that Io Shirai is presumably headed to the main roster next. We’ll have to see how long that takes her.

WWE is notorious for calling up NXT Superstars without having a plan for them. The rumor mill is starting to churn for Io Shirai on the main roster. The big question is what Vince McMahon will do with the Genius of the Skies.
