Bobby Lashley Would ‘Love To’ Defend WWE US Title In A Fight Pit Match

WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley has been booked to be a strong champion on the main roster so far. He is also accomplished in the world of MMA and brings legitimacy to his matches.

While speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Bobby Lashley talked about his current US Title run. Lashley said that the US Title has been perceived as just another title for a long time despite many famous wrestlers being former US champions.

Lashley then mentioned Matt Riddle’s challenge for the United States Title in a pit fight match. Lashley said that he would love to do something like that to legitimize the title.

“I thought the United States title was perceived for a long time as just another title, but it has so many great names behind it. I’m legit as it gets, and I take a lot of pride in defending this title, especially against guys like Riddle and Lee. I saw Riddle’s idea for a Fight Pit, and I’d love to do something like that for the U.S. title. It won’t change the outcome, but it would be a lot of fun.”

Last month Matt Riddle had tagged Triple H and asked him to set up a match against Bobby Lashley in pit fight.

Lashley is set to defend his United States Title against Matt Riddle and Keith Lee at WWE Elimination Chamber.
