Matt Cardona was released from WWE on April 15th. He appeared for AEW a few times, but then fans were waiting for his next move. They found out what that next move was at Hard To Kill.

Ace Austin showed up on the preshow, and he was not happy about being absent from the main card. He appeared during the Hard To Kill pay-per-view to complain on the microphone about this once again.

Then Matt Cardona was introduced by Scott D’Amore. Cardona came out and had a short match with Ace Austin until it was ended via DQ when Madman Fulton got in the ring.

They said on commentary that they weren’t sure if Matt Cardona is in Impact Wrestling for the long haul or if it was a one-time appearance. it was still good to see the former Zack Ryder make his Impact Wrestling debut.
