WWE planned for a big debut on SmackDown last week, but it didn’t happen. The name was withheld in the initial report, but now we know who was on his way up.

Damian Priest was set to debut on SmackDown last week. He was set to be involved in a segment with Roman Reigns. It is unclear exactly what kind of a role he was going to play.

Fightful Select has confirmed that Priest was set to debut on SmackDown. He is facing Karrion Kross at WWE NXT New Year’s Evil tonight. That could be his big send-off from the black and gold brand.

Damian Priest, who wrestled as Punishment Martinez prior to WWE, will open tonight’s New Year’s Evil card with Karrion Kross. The two powerhouses will face off in a commercial free match to open the event.

We’ll have to see if Damian Priest still debuts on the main roster after they changed up plans last week. Ringside News exclusively reported that Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman changed up plans.
