Goldberg surprised the WWE Universe when he returned this week on RAW. This was especially shocking because most assumed he was going after Roman Reigns next. He actually said Roman Reigns was next, but now it’s Drew McIntyre instead. The company did a great job keeping Goldberg’s presence a secret this week.

According to PW Insider, WWE kept Goldberg “very much hidden” backstage. The ThunderDome resides in Tropicana Field, and there are a ton of places where the company can hide people.

He was reportedly hidden backstage until just before his entrance. Additionally, WWE didn’t have Goldberg in the script for the show at all.

The company had timing issues with Goldberg’s return, so it was rushed. Their original idea for last night’s show didn’t include Goldberg closing out the night.

WWE made the decision over the weekend to call Goldberg for a match against Drew McIntyre. Now it is assumed he will face the Scottish Warrior on January 31st.
