AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT have done whatever they can to snag attention in their direction. Their identical airtimes sometimes creates a tough choice for fans. Those fans won’t have to choose on the week of Christmas.

The NBA on TNT announced that they will air the Bucks vs Celtics on December 23rd. That 7:30 PM tipoff time for the game made it impossible for AEW to keep their regular time slot.

Tony Khan’s company announced special Holiday Bash event for December 23rd anyway, but it will have to wait until the game is over. Odds are that NBA game won’t be over until around 10:30 PM which will create a late start-time for Dynamite.

WWE NXT will not have this issue on the 23rd. That being said, Christmas week 2020 will be the first week of the Wednesday Night War when both shows will air back-to-back on opposing networks. They have been forced to air on different days in the past, but going after each other will be a first for the rivalry between those two shows.

It will be very interesting to see how AEW Dynamite’s viewership holds up with their Holiday Bash special despite the late start time.
