CM Punk left WWE and he hasn’t been back in a pro wrestling ring since then. He did allegedly appear in a mask to nail GTS at an indie show, and while it was confirmed to be him, he didn’t admit to it. He is open to the idea of making a return if it’s interesting enough.

While speaking to Renee Young on her Oral Sessions podcast, CM Punk addressed the possibility of making a return to the ring. He’s open to the idea, but it needs to be an “interesting scenario.” He wants to tell a fun story, and get a stupid amount of money in the process.

CM Punk admitted that he is a “pretty picky guy,” but he has to be. At this point there are more interesting people on the AEW for him to wrestle as well.

“Without wanting to insult anybody on either side of the fence, any WWE talent or AEW talent, it would take above all an interesting scenario. A story that would be fun to tell. Also, just the stupidest amount of money. But they could save themselves a whole lot of money if they just presented… a fun storyline. Now, what that is, I don’t know. I’m a pretty picky guy, especially at this point.”

2020 brought plenty of unexpected events with it. We’ll have to see if 2021 will hold the return on CM Punk to a pro wrestling ring. Right now he seems far more interested in working with AEW than WWE.
