Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that “the Callis thing has been in the works for a while.” It was “presumed” that Don Callis came up with the idea and Tony Khan went with it.

“It does open up the doors for people which is great for Impact because some of their guys are going to end up on AEW television probably.”

It was noted that “AEW is wanting to work with people right now.” This will be an opportunity for the two companies to possibly share talent as a part of this new partnership as well.

Impact Wrestling also aired a throwback match featuring Generation Me, the Young Bucks’ TNA name, this week on the show. It was noted that this was likely foreshadowing, but they didn’t make it too obvious. The door is now open for AEW and Impact Wrestling to work together. We’ll have to see how wide that door will open when it comes to the possibilities available.
