WWE is always looking for a hook to bring in more viewers. Sometimes the ideas don’t work out the way they envisioned them, but other times things work according to plan. We’re not certain if bringing Braun Strowman to RAW Underground was a smashing success, but it certainly made things interesting.

While he spoke to Sports Illustrated, Braun Strowman revealed that it was his idea to show up on RAW Underground. He made a few appearances near the end of that recurring segment’s run.

“The third hour of Raw sometimes falls off with ratings, so I pitched an idea to bring ‘The Monster Among Men’ to Raw Underground. It’s so easy now to watch parts of the show on social media after it happens, but my goal is to get people to watch our live product. That’s a huge factor why I went to Raw, which is where I made a name for myself.”

RAW Underground was eventually nixed because WWE didn’t want to mix all of the brands in one segment. They had too many risk factors of cross-contamination with that segment, and they didn’t want another COVID-19 outbreak. So, the segment had to go.

You can never say never about the segment coming back, and Strowman might be featured once again. He is officially on the red brand now.
