AEW gives special attention to one star every week for going above and beyond. This week Fenix caught a lot of attention for a couple of reasons, but he is the company’s Wrestler Of The Week now.

Fenix had a bit of a rough week. He won a hard-hitting match against his brother Penta on AEW Dynamite, but he was injured in process. This caused him to give up his spot to his Lucha Bro.

AEW has named Fenix their Wrestler Of The Week. The company also included their reason for crowning Fenix with this honor with a brief caption.

.@ReyFenixMx put up one of the best fights in AEW history, making him our #WrestlerOfTheWeek

Fenix will be okay, but he needed to sit out of action on doctor’s orders. There is a very good chance that fans will still see Fenix and Kenny Omega have a match down the line, but it couldn’t happen during the #1 contender tournament.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
