WWE released a lot of Superstars and other staff on April 15th, and some of those Superstars found new places to work. Zack Ryder was one of those Superstars who received his release, but did the company try to bring him back?

There were rumors that WWE tried to bring a few of those released Superstars back. The story going around was that WWE offered them way less money, and nobody took those deals (except for Drake Maverick).

While speaking to Fightful, Matt Cardona revealed that WWE never called him about coming back. He was actually offered a new WWE contract around 2019’s WrestleMania, but he didn’t know if he wanted to sign away another half a decade of his life to WWE.

It was further noted that “although there are rumors that WWE has made offers to bring talent back, he’s never had any conversations to that degree with WWE since his release.”

It was also said that he’s pretty confident everyone who was released got the same “maybe we’ll bring you back” speech. The company did bring back Drake Maverick, but that was unique situation. If they tried to call anyone else, Ryder never had his name pulled.
