AEW announcer Excalibur was a wrestler prior to putting on the headset. The masked wrestler also used racial slurs in promos years ago. Recently resurfaced video put Excalibur in some hot water.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez noted that it has been “radio silence” from AEW concerning the Excalibur issue. This is not like the company.

Excalibur was pulled from television. He was also in Jacksonville prior to the event, but he wasn’t used.

When Tony Schiavone missed Dynamite because of a late COVID-19 test they told fans about it straight away. The company was also direct and transparent regarding the suspensions of Sammy Guevara and Jimmy Havoc.

Excalibur’s situation is much different because AEW hasn’t acknowledged it at all. He was simply not on television this week and not mentioned.

This situation could already be handled behind closed doors. It is still unlike AEW to not make a public address concerning a matter such as this.
