WWE started off SmackDown this week by mowing Elias down with a car. Fans didn’t see the stunt take place because the scene was already staged. Elias still acted hurt. Now we have an update on his status.

The company released an injury update on Elias saying that he sustained “broken ribs and a torn pectoral muscle.” Those injuries aren’t good for his character, but he’s healed up from worse injuries that he actually sustained.
WWE Digital has learned that Elias is in the hospital and has suffered broken ribs and a torn pectoral muscle after last night’s hit-and-run attack.
It’s unclear why WWE took Elias out of the IC Title Tournament like they did. The angle went on to upset Matt Hardy and Reby Hardy bit and cause a boost in ratings.
Now fans will see AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan on June 12th. WWE didn’t indicate how long Elias will be out of action with these storyline injuries.
