AEW stars used the same Jacksonville hotel as UFC fighters. This caused bit of a worry when three COVID-19 cases were discovered within those brought in for the UFC event.

Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza and two of his cornermen tested positive for the novel coronavirus ahead of UFC 249. They were staying at the same Jacksonville Hyatt Regency as AEW staff and stars. Once AEW heard about this they took action.

Bodyslam.net reports that AEW sent questionnaires to all staff asking if they had contact with Jacare or any other UFC staff. They were then tested and nobody is positive for COVID-19.

Nobody from AEW encountered Souza or anyone from his camp. Once news came down that they had tested positive all AEW employees were sent questionnaires regarding any possible interaction or encounters. Everyone was then tested, and no AEW employees tested positive.

AEW is taking a lot of precautions to protect from the novel coronavirus. They are testing stars and staff. The union that sets up the events also has very strict protocol. Thankfully, nobody in AEW has contracted the novel coronavirus. Hopefully, their number of positive cases remains at zero.
