WWE had to cancel NXT TakeOver: Tampa. They were in the process of building the card already so they decided to air the matches on NXT’s USA Network show. Some matches cannot take place.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that some planned NXT TakeOver: Tampa matches can’t happen now. The most notable might be that NXT only has half of their Tag Team Champions available. Pete Dunne isn’t the only one having issues.

Due to the novel coronavirus, there are strict travel restrictions. The planned Broserweights vs Undisputed Era vs Zack Gibson and James Drake match can’t take place. The only people available from that match for the current tapings are Matt Riddle and Bobby Fish. O’Reilly is questionable.

Pete Dunne, James Drake, and Zack Gibson can’t travel to the United States from the UK. It was also noted that Kyle O’Reilly’s diabetes creates an additional risk for him attending the tapings.

Walter vs Finn Balor also isn’t happening because Walter can’t get in the country. WWE was able to film a few matches from the NXT TakeOver: Tampa card. They will air those matches in the next couple of weeks.
