AEW is holding a very special episode of Dynamite on March 25th. It could be a very bloody episode on TNT.

Vince McMahon likes to throw shade at AEW by calling them “blood and guts.” Ironically, this was the name that All Elite Wrestling used for their own version of War Games.

WWE owns the name WarGames, but Cody owns “The Great Beyond.” The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that AEW’s Blood & Guts match will likely bring back a rule that the match can only end via submission.

They are going to do the two-ring War Games with a roof on it, likely with the only winning via submission finish that Dusty Rhodes created for a show at the Omni in Atlanta in 1987 for the Four Horseman & J.J. Dillon vs. Rhodes & Road Warriors & Nikita Koloff & Paul Ellering.

AEW loves to pay homage to the past. MJF’s old school heel gimmick comes complete with feud-themed t-shirts just like Greg “The Hammer” Valentine used to employ. He wore one that said “I Pinned Cody” on Dynamite this week.

Bringing back an old rule like the match only ending in submission could add a very dramatic element.

It was advertised for Dynamite next week that AEW will unveil the rules for Blood & Guts. They might earn their TV-14 rating on March 25th.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
