AEW and NJPW are not working together. Some AEW stars are allowed to accept dates with New Japan Pro Wrestling, but that is as far as the partnership goes.

Following AEW Revolution, Tony Khan spoke in the media scrum about possibly working with NJPW. He said that their relationship hasn’t been a two-way street.

AEW has no issues with their guys working for NJPW as long as it doesn’t interfere with Dynamite or pay-per-view events. Khan went on to say that he hasn’t seen a lot of guys from NJPW in AEW before telling New Japan that they’re welcome for “all the great stuff” that AEW has done for them.

“I think they are a great company and a lot of my people have worked shows there and I have no problem with guys going as long as it doesn’t interfere with what we are doing on Wednesdays and with our pay-per-views.”

“It hasn’t really been a two way street. I haven’t seen a lot of their guys here. I don’t hear from them often. If you guys [NJPW] are watching this, you’re welcome for all the great stuff I’ve done for you.”

Jon Moxley is working fewer NJPW events. This news broke before he picked up the AEW World Title, but it makes sense.

We’ll have to see what kind of deal Lance Archer has. He is set to make his Dynamite debut this week, but he also came from NJPW.
