AEW is a new pro wrestling company so they will make mistakes. Tony Khan is President of AEW, but now he is stepping up in more of a creative role.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted following the Corpus Christi episode of AEW Dynamite that received such criticism Tony Khan is stepping up and taking “more control.” This is an effort to plant the seeds for more long-term booking.

Regarding the booking which has come together better over the last three weeks, Tony Khan took more control after the negativity from the Corpus Christi show and you can see more seeds of long-term planning and layers in storylines, like in the four team tag match and other angles. But that’s also related to all involved.

AEW has plenty of stories to tell and they just signed big extension in their contract with WarnerMedia. This should ensure that Tony Khan and the rest of AEW will have a lot of time to make long-term booking plans.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
