AEW Brings Real-Life Romance Drama Into Dynamite Storyline

AEW had a interesting opportunity available for them. Joey Janela and Penelope Ford are both on their roster and they were an item in real life. AEW also employs Ford’s current boyfriend Kip Sabian.

During AEW Dynamite this week, Joey Janela was cutting a backstage promo. He didn’t get very far until Penelope Ford hit him with a low-blow just like Chyna used to do.

Janela fell and held his jewels while Ford and Kip Sabian chuckled and walked off. It appears that AEW is going to capitalize on this real-life storyline in some form or fashion.

In real life everyone involved is a professional and Janela has spoken about his breakup with Ford in the past. There’s no backstage heat, but it is interesting that this is getting attention.
