WWE Backstage welcomed CM Punk on the show and his involvement got them trending worldwide on social media.

CM Punk said his job at WWE Backstage didn’t exist six months ago let alone six years ago. He said someone floated him the idea and he admitted that it could be interesting and “it kinda snowballed from there.”

He said wrestling and what he’s doing now are two totally different things. He doesn’t have a relationship with WWE. It’s strictly him and FOX “and that’s a very interesting dynamic.” He’s not employed by WWE and he gets to “criticize the product.”

CM Punk said maybe this is a way to “find myself in the business again.” He said that he wants to be the voice of the voiceless. He’s not going to be punished for talking about what he wants to talk about like if he was under WWE contract.

Punk revealed that the butterflies are back and he’s “not dead inside” anymore. He also said that he was talking to AJ Lee backstage at WrestleMania before his match with The Undertaker and when his music hit he told her that he’d rather stay and talk instead of wrestle. Now he feels much better about things as he was checked out of wrestling at the time.

He said that he “mastered” wrestling and now he’s moved on to a new exciting adventure on WWE Backstage. The CM Punk summed it up quite nicely when he said: “I’m at a point in my life where I can pick and choose what I do and I don’t have to work with jerks, it’s crazy.”
