When Decision Was Made To Bring CM Punk Onto WWE Backstage

CM Punk’s people reached out to FOX months ago about him appearing on WWE Backstage. He tried out for part on the show and then we didn’t hear anything else about it. Last night all that changed.

We previously reported that FOX had “moved on” from having CM Punk on WWE Backstage. PW Insider reports that the two sides “circled on a deal,” but it was finally finalized very recently.

The two sides had circled on a deal but it was finally completed within the last few days.

CM Punk’s involvement with WWE Backstage will definitely bring more interest to the FS1 show. With an audience of only 49,000 viewers last week they could really use the boost. They did not advertise any kind of surprise this week so fans had no idea to tune in for CM Punk. Next week will likely be much different.
