WWE Backstage gave their premiere performance last night on FS1. We were watching, were you? If you were watching the show live then you were one of the few.

PW Insider reports that WWE Backstage drew 49,000 viewers last night. Yes, that is one thousand less than 50,000.

Compare that to the preview episode on October 25th which received 426,000 viewers and that’s not good at all. The show didn’t even list in the top 150 shows of the night on cable.

To be fair, previous episodes of WWE Backstage had strong lead-ins with game 3 of the ALCS and an episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown (that only had 888,000 viewers itself). This is also technically the third episode of WWE Backstage if you take those preview episodes into consideration.

The time that WWE Backstage is on might have caused an issue as well. After all, it is on at 11:00 PM EST on a Tuesday. Either way, this is probably not the number that WWE or FOX was expecting.

It will be interesting to see if FOX does anything to try and bring up the rating in the weeks to come.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
