Moxley and Pac going to a time limit draw did help both of them in regards to not suffering a loss, but there was a greater reason. Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that AEW is conditioning their audience for an eventual big pop.

“This is just basic booking, there’s a reason for this. There will come a day, I don’t know when it will be, but if they book consistently when they do a time limit ‘3 minutes left, 2 minutes left, 1 minute left,’ okay? They will teach people, ‘Oh, it’s gonna be a draw, oh it’s gonna be a draw.’ Then one day it won’t be a draw and that’s the day they’re building for. You gotta educate people.”

AEW is using a lot of booking ideas that we might not see very much of in the United States. WWE has their own way of doing things and AEW has nothing to do with that.

Usually in a boxing match or another fight that ends in a draw, the rematches usually have more hype as well.

This is just another example of that because no match is going to a draw due to no television time remaining in Vince McMahon’s company.
