WWE is celebrating 20 years of SmackDown tonight as they air their first FOX broadcast live from LA’s Staples Center, but John Cena won’t be there.

John Cena is currently in Georgia filming a new move as we previously reported. That didn’t stop Cena from sending out a message saying that he will be rooting the blue brand on from afar.

He is very happy that The Rock will be making a return though and commented how The Great One is in the Fast Family. Obviously, Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel were really able to patch things up.

Good luck to my @WWE family for the 1st episode of #SmackDown on @FOXTV. I’ve learned a lot about family here at #Fast9 and while I’ll be enjoying from afar, I’m glad #FastAndFurious family icon @TheRock gets to FINALLY return home to electrify!

John Cena might have teased fans a bit with showing up tonight for Friday Night SmackDown, but he’s incredibly busy.

It might be best that he stay away though because Cena returning to WWE television needs to have a good amount of time devoted to it and they already have an absolutely packed show planned.
