When you think back throughout the history of NXT, one man who has played an incredibly influential role is the one and only William Regal.

The British wrestling legend has served as general manager of the brand for five years now, and in that time he has overseen a great deal of change in what was once considered to be nothing more than a developmental brand.

With NXT’s big move to USA Network being less than a week away now, Regal felt the need to give his brief thoughts on the switch as we prepare for a brand new era of NXT.

There is certainly an argument to be made that behind Triple H, nobody has been able to do more for the NXT brand than William Regal. From his consistent on-screen personality to his training behind the scenes at the WWE Performance Center, he has had quite the career resurgence.

He would’ve played an influential role in the rise of NXT UK, too, which is a project that he is hopefully incredibly proud of. It’s a shame we never got to see Regal hold the world title in WWE, but we’d still quite like to see him have one more match if at all possible.

Even if that doesn’t happen, though, we’re more than happy to see Regal continue his current role as the best general manager in WWE.

Who knows how far NXT could continue to go, especially when you’ve got guys like him and Triple H running the show.
