WWE could be making a huge statement by moving NXT to the USA Network. Now TNT and USA Network could be battling once again for ratings supremacy.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon is taking this war with AEW very seriously. McMahon is said to have regrets about letting WCW even gain footing while they signed up Hulk Hogan and other WWE Superstars.

Therefore, WWE did everything in their power to prevent AEW from even getting off the ground. The one thing Vince McMahon didn’t expect was for The Elite to turn down their huge contract offers.

“They did everything they could to stop this thing from getting off and you know they didn’t count on these guys turning down the big offers and they did and at that point you know they were still whatever — then the TNT thing happened and it’s like, ‘Okay the door’s open,’ but I don’t think they didn’t even think it was that serious until Vegas. The Vegas sell-out I think was interesting because they could never sell out Vegas for anything. The big one was the Chicago tickets.”

It was noted that Vince McMahon made the same mistake that he did the last time with WCW. Because he let Chris Jericho go thinking that he was too old to make much of a difference. McMahon reportedly went hard at Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, but they obviously turned him down too.

Now it looks like Vince McMahon is gearing up for another big pro wrestling war, but it will take place on Wednesday nights this time.
