WWE has been having a pretty hard time getting fans to show up at house shows. These live events used to have no issue selling tickets to local markets, but now they are obviously having trouble which could lead to a change in direction.

Just this week the company canceled five house shows for the end of August. This could be troubling for some fans, especially those who were looking forward to attending one of those shows, but the company is reportedly planning even bigger things.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE is going to start drifting away from the idea of doing single-branded house shows. Instead, they will start holding more “super shows” with Superstars from each brand.

This change in direction might limit the dates that Superstars have on the road, but the added appeal of more Superstars on a card will also hopefully encourage more fans to buy tickets.
