WWE’s Summerslam is going down on August 11th and they are still making matches official. Last night Finn Balor couldn’t make the Smackville special due to illness, but the company was able to find a suitable replacement with Ali.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the plan for Summerslam isn’t to include Nakamura vs Ali for the IC Title. However, they could always add that match because Ali is Shinsuke’s planned opponent from this point on.

“Nakamura and Ali is not official for that show [Summerslam], but it’s something that could be added and it is a direction they are planning on going unless they change their mind, but Nakamura and Ali was going to be the direction for Nakamura as of a week ago.”

WWE has a lot of options when it comes to booking their big Summerslam event. It will likely be a very long show as well because it is a Big 4 pay-per-view event. The fans in Toronto are paying quite a pretty Canadian penny for their seats too so WWE might want to make it worth their money as well.
