WWE currently has the largest number of titles in the company than they have ever had before. With all that gold floating around a certain pair of titles has been pretty much ignored. Because The IIconics haven’t had a decent set of challengers since winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania.
The Bella Twins were actually supposed to make return in the time since Mania and have a program with Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, but that didn’t happen. After all, Nikki Bella still has brain cyst to worry about. Now Royce and Kay will finally defend their titles tonight on SmackDown Live.
WWE has confirmed that The Kabuki Warriors will get their shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles tonight on the blue brand’s show.
After defeating The IIconics in a non-title match in Tokyo last month, The Kabuki Warriors earned the right to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Asuka & Kairi Sane will get their opportunity at the titles tonight.
This is a match that WWE could have added to Extreme Rules, but it’s happening on the show after the pay-per-view instead. With Summerslam coming up on August 11th and the company stacking that event we will just have to wait and see if we see an actual match or some sort of a schmoz that will eventually see the two teams battling in Toronto instead.
