WWE is doing everything they can to draw attention to the show. The company tried something new a few weeks ago as they dropped the crowd lights, killed the big screen, and made all of their graphics black and white.

This was said to be an attempt to give RAW “grittier” feel. However, it looks like the company has already given up in this new endeavor. This is in spite of Mick Foley really putting over the company’s direction.

Bryan Alvarez mentioned on Wrestling Observer Live that WWE appears to have already given up their attempt at making their third hour a grittier show.

“They already gave up on the grittiness of the third hour where they dim the lights and make everything black and white. It lasted two weeks. Anybody notice they dropped it? I don’t think so.”

WWE will continue to try new things to get fans to pay attention. Their gritty third hour of RAW didn’t do much, to be honest. Last week fans only got the last twenty minutes of the show with this gritty new theme because WWE needed to light the crowd for the Electric Chair segment.

That Electric Chair segment is another story altogether and after the segment’s first week and Seth Rollins destroyed the chair. When Sami Zayn dropped “AEW” on WWE television it’s no real surprise if we never see that segment again.
