Jon Moxley is no longer in WWE which means he is now free to do as he pleases. That means he won’t just be working for one company now.

Mox’s big AEW Double Or Nothing debut was soon followed by an announcement that he is going to NJPW where he will battle Juice Robinson for the IWGP United States Title on June 5th. This could see him winning major title in his first match outside of WWE.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that while Moxley will be permitted to work for both AEW and NJPW, All Elite Wrestling will get priority on his schedule.

At this point Moxley’s other NJPW matches haven’t been announced. He will be able to work some dates with New Japan even after AEW starts on weekly television but AEW will have first dibs on his dates.

Moxley has two indie dates scheduled for NEW against Pentagon Jr and then Sami Callihan in late June. Those are two dream matches, especially another match with Callihan as the two were a tandem called the “Switchblade Conspiracy” back in the day.

Once AEW starts up on TNT it’s likely that those indie dates will become a thing of the past as All Elite Wrestling will need him every week. So he will likely eventually only be juggling AEW and NJPW on his schedule.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
