WWE’s television ratings are pretty alarming. It turns out that WWE’s low ratings could actually go on to hurt other companies as well.

As we previously reported, Vince McMahon does get time in his busy schedule to check out the TV ratings and then he makes decisions. This might not be the best approach to take from now on because Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE’s awful television ratings are going on to damage the entire industry.

It is said that due to the world’s largest pro wrestling company not being able to pop a 3 rating and falling under 2 million viewers at times, it could actually be proving to the analysts that the entire pro wrestling industry has grown cold.

“Look, the TV industry is talking about this, you know. The repercussions of this could be very big in a lot of ways in the sense of just the perception of wrestling. There’s very much in the TV industry, and it really wasn’t even there a month ago, but right now being of both shows doing record lows and doing so much worse than last year in the TV industry there is a perception that — Wow, wrestling is really… I don’t wanna say collapsing, but wrestling’s cold now which before there really wasn’t that perception.”

This is not a great perception for the television industry to take especially with AEW out there trying to nail down a deal of some kind. We have even heard of changes in All Elite Wrestling’s possible television placement as well.

It would be great if WWE could get something going to bring in a lot of fans. People might have dropped out of watching WWE, but gravitated toward other promotions. The fact is that if WWE is doing poorly it could reflect on the entire industry. So even if you’re not a fan of WWE, if you still love pro wrestling it might be a good idea to hope for the best as well.
