Harper wasn’t being used while his Bludgeon Brother tag team partner Rowan was out with an injury. So Harper elected to get a wrist procedure done to correct an issue that had been bothering him for quite some time. Now WWE is tacking on more time to his contract due to that time missed.

The former SmackDown Tag Team Champion requested his release from WWE, but it was not granted. As stated above, his contract was instead extended which could have served as a warning for other Superstars who wish to make such a public announcement about wanting out of the company.

As we previously reported, Harper was brought in to work a dark match just so EC3 and Drake Maverick could test out a new team. Then Harper wasn’t used after that.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that the final breaking point for Harper seemed to be the fact that Vince McMahon had no plans of putting him on either roster during the Superstar Shake-Up.

The creative meeting the day of the draft when it was asked about which brand Harper would be on, Vince said how the guy can’t even do a Southern accent, said the match with EC 3 was bad, so they didn’t put him with either brand and that’s when he asked for his release.

Harper might be sitting at home for quite a while now which is not where he wants to be at all. At 39-years-old, his career needs to be making him money and he could strongly benefit from getting his name out there. However, that doesn’t seem to be in the works at all right now.
