WWE is making a lot of money, but their fanbase seems to either be leaving for another pro wrestling company or just giving up sports entertainment altogether. They have figured out that those fans that are staying are spending way more money than the average fan used to shell out for merch and tickets.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter pointed out that SummerSlam tickets for this year are incredibly expensive. It is to the point where the cheapest seats in the building seem almost like scalper prices. They still sold all of those out almost immediately.

The one thing about today is there may be less fans, but more are willing to spend huge money. WWE is taking advantage of that as ticket prices for SummerSlam in Toronto are ranging from $153 (upper deck) to $2,305 (front row). And all the less expensive tickets went instantly. . .

WWE could keep ticket prices high for their big events. They aren’t likely to jack up the prices too much for television tapings, if anything they might need to consider lowering them because they’re having a hard enough time selling out half of the larger arenas already.
