WWE is looking to beef up their roster in a big way and it appears they are specifying who they intend on targeting in their next round of recruits. There is no shortage of homegrown Superstars right now and a few of them came from other sports. It seems like WWE is looking to continue that tradition.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE sent out a casting call for professional football players to come to the WWE Performance Center for a tryout.

This tryout is expected to take place in April and they are looking for professional football players who are not retired and are not currently signed to any team. Therefore, that might narrow it down a bit.

The idea being pitched is using guys like Roman Reigns, The Rock, and Titus O’Neil who all came into WWE from football backgrounds. Mojo Rawley and Baron Corbin were not mentioned in this report although they too come from the football world.
