New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 13 has come and gone and
Hiroshi Tanahashi walked out of the Tokyo Dome as the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. Chris Jericho lost the IWGP Intercontinental Championship at the same show to Tetsuya Naito, but Y2J isn’t done with NJPW.

While speaking to Yahoo Japan, Jericho revealed that he’s not done with New Japan. In fact, he wants a shot at Hiroshi Tanahashi next.

“I just lost the [Intercontinental Championship] I took from Naito in June of last year. It’s a big mistake if you think that the time with me and New Japan Pro-Wrestling is over. I want to challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight belt…Write it down. Chris Jericho will challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship! You will understand.”

Chris Jericho could have been working in his heel persona. The fact that he’s still throwing down challenges to NJPW wrestlers gives us a pretty good clue that even though he lost, Wrestle Kingdom 13 wasn’t Jericho’s last match for New Japan.
