Who Reportedly Advocated For Asuka’s Push In WWE

Asuka walked out of WWE TLC as the SmackDown Women’s Champion. It took a lot of work to get Asuka to that point and she had to suffer many losses after her undefeated streak was broken by Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania.

As we approach another Road To WrestleMania, there are obviously people pulling for Asuka backstage. We previously reported that Vince McMahon is one of Asuka’s biggest fans. However, as Brad Shepard revealed on Oh, You Didn’t Know, he has been told that is not the case at all.

“Certain people in WWE love Asuka. Now here’s the key: Vince doesn’t but everyone else does apparently. Hence her booking in NXT with the Goldberg streak and then winning the first Women’s Royal Rumble. Asuka, she doesn’t sell a dime in merchandise.”

It was said that Asuka “doesn’t draw, she doesn’t draw a dime in merchandise” yet she’s still SmackDown Women’s Champion. Charisma is hard to explain sometimes and harder to market at times. Therefore, it seems like The Empress Of Tomorrow might have some work to do before she can become a fully rounded champion in WWE.
