AEW All Out included several big moments including the debut of Santana & Ortiz. Proud n Powerful jumped The Young Bucks after a brutal ladder match with the Lucha Bros. Santana & Ortiz were wearing masks of former United States Presidents, but there was one that AEW wanted to stay away from.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Proud n Powerful revealed that they thought the AEW fans would give them “crickets” during their All Out debut, “but obviously it was the opposite,” Ortiz said. They wore masks of former United States presidents picking Bill Clinton and JFK for the big show.

Santana went on to explain their inspiration for this big debut. They were on a Patrick Swayze movie kick where they watched some classics including Too Wong Foo, Road House, and Point Break. This gave them a great idea for their entrance into AEW.

“Point Break, so once we saw that… baby the little hand on the clock it’s time to rock n roll. So once we saw that we were like, ‘Yo, how about this?’ and it worked out we went to this Halloween store and bough the Presidents [masks].”

They originally wanted Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton because they wanted to go with the presidents during their birth years. Ortiz couldn’t find Reagan so they had to settle for JFK.

“I was like JFK is gonna have to do, bro you’re not getting my Bill Clinton mask,” Santana said.

Then Ortiz chimed in saying: “We were specially told ‘Not Trump.’ So yeah we stayed away from Trump, yeah.”

Proud n Powerful’s AEW debut worked out very well and it popped the Sears Centre crowd in a big way. We can only imagine how it would have been if one of them picked a Donald Trump mask because they couldn’t find Reagan. It’s a good thing AEW had the foresight to stop that controversy before it could start.
