Austin Aries is not the kind of person who can take much of anything without saying something about it. He’s been outspoken in the past which has led to troubles and successes in his career. But apparently, his status with Impact Wrestling might be in some doubt at this point.
Aries dropped the Impact World Title to Johnny Impact at Bound For Glory last night in a match that had elements of feeling like a shoot. But once the match was over, Aries got up without selling Impact’s Starship Pain, he gave the finger to Don Callis and had some words with him before walking off without even limping.
Bryan Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Live that A Double went home following the BFG show. Therefore he will not be at the television tapings which could mean he’s not going to be factored into the company’s creative direction from this point on.
This is a situation sparked by Aries calling Taya husky after Johnny called him short. The two had a brawl where an investor was apparently knocked over and Alvarez reported this weekend that something could happen in this situation in the next week. Apparently, there could be some kind of punishment handed down as result of backstage heat.
Only time will tell but at this point, it appears Austin Aries might have simply walked out of Impact Wrestling. Of course, as with any other story, we will keep you updated as we learn anything new in this matter.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
