WWE is receiving a lot of attention at this point because of their relationship with the Saudi Arabian government. But while most people who want WWE to pull out of the deal have political reasons, WWE is staying in because of the money the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia is throwing at them.
It was said on Wrestling Observer Live that the working idea backstage in WWE, if they have to cancel the event, is to take all of the matches except for the World Cup tournament and simply moving them to Survivor Series.
This would move Shawn Michaels’ return to LA’s Staples Center instead of Saudi Arabia and the same would be for Brock Lesnar as well. But the money might not be the same coming in, however, the belief is that both of those wrestler’s paydays would not change and WWE would simply have to pay them.
At this point, it’s all business. But WWE might have their hand forced on them and they might have to cancel the event. Bryan Alvarez speculated on the show saying that at this point he doesn’t think WWE will be holding the event in Saudi Arabia.

Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
