SmackDown Live is a huge show now that Fox dropped so much money on the show. But the question still remains about whether WWE will air the show live or if it will go back to being a pre-taped show.

Dave Meltzer discussed this on Wrestling Observer Live where it didn’t sound out of the realm of possibility that we might be facing another period of time where SmackDown Live will air days after the show actually took place.

“It almost has to be with that kind of money. But nobody has said that. I’ve asked around. There’s people I’ve asked in WWE who actually said they think it’s going to be taped. They don’t know. But I can’t imagine it being taped with that kind of money it makes no sense. It’s just too much money and the business has changed.”

It was also noted that Fox’s business model seems to really promote live sports programming, therefore, airing SmackDown with a 3-day tape delay might not work at all.

Only time will tell though because this news is extremely fresh and we keep hearing new elements about it all the time. We promise to keep you posted, so please keep checking back to Ringside News as new info is made available.
