Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross were on hand to help call the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal during the WrestleMania 34 kickoff show, but it turns out he almost didn’t make the big show because he had a really scary health issue just a few weeks beforehand.

Lawler revealed on the latest episode of Dinner With The King that the WWE Hall Of Famer suffered a stroke last month on March 21st. He was unable to talk for two days which must have been torture for a guy like Lawler too. But he was able to make a full recovery in time for Mania.

This didn’t give The King much time to recuperate. But thankfully, he was able to still make the show. It might be for the best that this revelation didn’t come out until after his Mania obligations were behind him because since his heart issues in 2012, WWE has been very cautious about what they have Lawler do meaning him wrestling  is strictly off limits even though he still seems to still be working plenty of indie wrestling dates.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
