Zoey Serrano has wrestled for everything from a handshake to serious WWE money, and now she’s revealing which match delivered the biggest payday of her entire career.
During her Zoey 101 Q&A, Serrano was asked about the least and most money she has ever made from a wrestling match. After 14 years in the business, her answer showed just how wild the difference can be between starting out on the independent scene and reaching WWE. Serrano said there were times early in her career when she wasn’t paid a single dollar. Sometimes she got a hot dog for her trouble — and sometimes she didn’t even get that.
“Least I have ever got paid? Zero. Was paid absolutely nothing. In fact, I got a handshake and a hot dog. A lot of the times they didn’t give me the hot dog, just a handshake.”
Things looked very different once Serrano reached WWE. When it came to the biggest payday of her career, she didn’t have to think very hard about the answer. Serrano revealed that her Fatal Four Way match in Saudi Arabia against Shayna Baszler, Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez paid her more than any other match she has ever worked.
“The most I have ever made, it was in Saudi Arabia. Shocker. I know, right? Saudi Arabia. It was me, Shayna, Rhea, Raquel, Fatal Four Way in Saudi Arabia. And guys, that was hands down the most money I have ever made.”
The payday was apparently big enough that Serrano isn’t even sure she’ll ever top it during the rest of her wrestling career.
“I don’t even know if I’ll ever make that much again. It was like, insane. Insane amount.”
Serrano didn’t reveal the exact dollar figure, but she didn’t really need to. Going from wrestling for nothing more than a handshake and the occasional hot dog to making what she described as an “insane amount” in WWE is a pretty dramatic look at how far her career took her. She may have collected plenty of memorable moments during her WWE run, but when it comes to the biggest check she ever walked away with, Serrano clearly remembers exactly where it came from.
