Zilla Fatu wanted nothing to do with BirthRight during WWE NXT on September 1, 2026. The group attempted to recruit Fatu following his main-event victory over Tristan Angels, but their offer ended with Lexis King getting kicked in the face.
Fatu entered the match looking to recover from his loss in the NXT Championship Fatal Four-Way at Heatwave. Angels targeted Fatu throughout the fight and even left him bleeding from the mouth, forcing the referee to stop and check on him at ringside. Fatu refused to stay down. He fought his way back into the match and eventually put Angels away with the Triple Z to secure the victory.
BirthRight came out after the bell and confronted Fatu inside the ring. The group extended an invitation for him to join them, promising that he would be treated like family if he accepted.
They also warned Fatu that the NXT locker room was filled with snakes and tried convincing him that BirthRight could give him the protection and support he needed. Fatu didn’t need time to consider the offer, saying “Hell nah.” Fatu then drilled Lexis King with a superkick, giving BirthRight an immediate answer and making it clear that he has no interest in joining their ranks.
BirthRight may have seen Fatu as the muscle needed to restore its power on NXT, but the recruitment attempt blew up in the group’s face. Fatu left the show with a major victory and proved that he plans to carve out his own path instead of hiding behind a faction.
