NXT brought the Great American Bash to fans, and fans packed the Performance Center to see what the brand had to offer. In the end, the NXT Women’s North American Title came down to an interesting mix of styles.
Zaria lived in Sol Ruca’s shadow for far too long. Now that she is NXT Women’s North American Champion, she wants respect. However, Tatum Paxley made her look bad in her first tag team match as champion, and that didn’t sit well with her.
Tatum Paxley got another chance to become the NXT North American Champion at the Great American Bash. Zaria made her way to the ring in confident fashion, and this match got a big fight feel thanks to Mike Rome’s ring announcement.
The match started as the two competitors pulled at the title, but that tug-of-war ended with Zaria headbutting her opponent. Then Tatum sold for Zaria for a bit.
Tatum Paxley really wanted the title back, and she even nailed a Cemetery Drive, but Zaria kicked out. Fans chanted for Zaria after that, and then she went for an F5, but it was reversed. Zaria returned by nailing a spear and an F5 for another near fall.
After that, Zaria fought to get another F5, which she eventually pulled off. It was no trouble getting the win to retain the title after that. Zaria showed up to the Great American Bash and impressed along the way to retain her Women’s North American Title.
