Zack Amico believes JCW has a simple way to get more eyes on its talent — work with other promotions and give fans more crossover stories.
Amico discussed the idea during an appearance on Jasmin St. Claire’s Off the Rails podcast while talking about wrestling invasion angles and why they can still work when they are handled the right way. He pointed to JCW’s previous angle with ECW at the Gathering as an example, saying the payoff felt like a real victory for the promotion and its fans.
“At the Gathering last year when JCW beat ECW, it felt good. It felt like the fireworks and everything.”
Amico said the bigger value is what those kinds of crossovers can do for the roster. Instead of constantly adding more wrestlers to JCW, bringing in talent from other promotions gives the company fresh matchups while also creating opportunities for its own wrestlers to get noticed by a different audience.
“It’s kind of a great way to get other talent in and show other people without having to necessarily expand your roster immensely.”
He also explained that the exposure can go both ways, especially when JCW wrestlers get the chance to appear elsewhere.
“And it gives our guys a chance to go over and be seen by another audience. That’s when they book us at GCW.”
Amico’s point is pretty straightforward: invasion angles don’t just give fans another wrestling storyline to follow. They can also put JCW talent in front of people who may have never watched the promotion before, while keeping the roster from getting overloaded.
If JCW keeps leaning into crossover opportunities, Amico clearly sees a lane where the company can grow its audience without changing what makes it different in the first place. One well-timed invasion angle can turn into a whole new set of eyeballs on the roster.
