The Young Bucks came close to signing with WWE more than once, but according to them, one person played a big role in making them think twice—PAC.

Speaking on the October 2 episode of Being the Elite, Matt and Nick Jackson looked back on their longtime friendship with the late PAC, revealing that he actually warned them against following him to WWE when they asked for career advice years ago.

The Bucks explained that they first became close with PAC during their time together in Japan in 2008. However, once PAC signed with WWE, they naturally drifted apart before reconnecting during a WrestleMania weekend.

“We lost touch a little bit when he went to WWE, but we did see him at, like, a WrestleMania weekend.”

When they met again, the Bucks said they were seriously considering WWE themselves. Curious about PAC’s experience, they asked whether they should visit WWE and potentially sign so the three of them could work together again.

“We asked for career advice. We were like, ‘Should we go? Should we visit? Should we do what you’re doing right now, and, like, we can all be together?’”

According to Matt Jackson, PAC didn’t hesitate with his answer, as PAC told them not to sign with WWE at all, saying, “He told us, ‘No, mate. Don’t do this. This isn’t for you, mate. Don’t do this.’” Nick Jackson confirmed that was exactly how the conversation went.

“He did say that.”

The story is particularly interesting because the Bucks have previously admitted they came extremely close to signing with WWE in 2019 before ultimately helping launch AEW instead. Looking back now, it seems PAC’s advice came long before that decision and clearly left a lasting impression.

It’s impossible to know how much that conversation influenced the Bucks’ careers, but it’s another look into the close friendship they shared with PAC long before AEW existed. Years later, the advice he gave them has become another memorable story as they continue reflecting on his life and legacy.
